Lucy.....Dont be a dumbazz . You work, you're not a bum. You have nothing to be embarrased about. A good admin is worth its weight in gold to an office. Remember, you arent your job, you work to live, nothing more. I think its an issue with you and nothing more. Go have a drink and relax. Post about being embarrased when you havent worked in a decade and are trying to kick that drug habit. Till then, youre doing great....

I think that you are doing an important job. Sometimes I beat myself up, that I am not making more money, or have a fancy job...but I am doing okay, and I like my job. If others think I should be making more money, or doing something more with my life...that is fine...they can think that way...meanwhile, I am still happy, make enough to pay my bills...don't really care what others think.

Thanks....Also to I love LI...

Some people think your job defines you. It so doesn't. I never dreamed as a child about working in a boring office..lol. I pay my bills, put a little money away and spend the rest. Its really dumb that some feel the need to look down on others for what they do. Whay do you care if you aren't paying my bills?

Any thoughts? Anyone with similar or maybe totally oposite experience? Would love to hear from you.
OMG, liking your job is wonderful! It's more than just that it is everything that matters.

Doesn't matter what other people think.

Yes it is embarrassing considering when you are 100x smarter and more proactive than your lazy hippo boss.

That would apply to almost EVERY job out there LOL.

Let's face it people. Regardless of what your title is--if you work for someone else, you're their b****. Until you work for yourself or own your own company, you're somebody's little b***/slave. Plain and simple. You are at the mercy of your "retarded sheep" of a boss or "supervisor".

I don't know how you phrase it. Instead of starting with "I'm an administrative assistant," what if you said, "I work at the Famous Widget Corporation, in the communications department.'"

Good tip. I have given this tip myself, but part of me wants to just preach to these little girls and tell them "Look, if you're being stupid and have an inferiority complex, go work somewhere else and someone who is better at your job, than you are, will gladly take your spot."

Seriously, how old are you girls? Perhaps 21?
