Feeling productive is a good thing. And being a greeter isn't something very many people aspire to be, so she's not taking a job from anyone, except maybe another person around her age.
Seniors can volunteer if they want to feel productive as well.
There are parts of the country where HS teens/ college students looking for part time work because they need a job to start saving for school are competing with "bored" retired seniors. In addition to the unemployed.
IMO, seniors who don't need to work should try volunteering and leave those hard to find jobs to the people who really need them.

But even if she was taking a job from someone younger, she has every right to do so. Everyone regardless of age has the right to compete for a job that they are qualified to do.
