I suggest you visit parenting/family message boards. You'll see examples of family babysitting (not even for free) not ending up well. FYI, I'm not saying don't do it. Just try to be well informed on this type of setup.

I suggest you comment on the topic I asked for suggestions on rather than give your opinion on my childcare choices. Just sayin'....

I actually did end up telling them. I felt I owed it to them. My employer has been very good to me and my previous supervisor here most certainly understands as he also has young children. They are being very supportive and are more than happy to give me glowing recommendations to any possible future employers. Thankfully my company is very family oriented and they understand, so I feel good about my decision to tell them.
