I have an Associates Degree. I was formerly a legal assistant (laid off). I presently work as a cook/server (for well over minimum wage) at a jr./sr. high cafeteria and this summer I am currently growing produce on my own and assisting a neighboring farmer in growing and harvesting. I cleared $200.00 net profit last week on lettuces, spinach, endive, and berries alone, grown and sold myself and through the neighbor. An acquaintance said he hoped I get a "Real Job" soon. What the ###### does THAT mean?????
i'm an entry level cook. i probably applied to about a hundred jobs, most of them i was more than qualified for, and quite a few were random. i was interviewed for a writing/marketing position that i was perfect for- it paid close to minimum wage and i haven't heard back. then i interviewed to be a cook when all i can make is scrambled eggs, and i'm hired. go figure.
