Default I worked a contract job..

I was wondering if I put the outsourcing company that hired me on my resume, or the place of business I worked at?

Ex. X hired me to work for Y. Do I put X or Y?

I've had different opinions on this, and was just wondering the correct way to do it.

Thanks

I put the company I work for + Contract
For example, xxx company, Contract Accountant

I agree with Mrsbunny, unless one or the other is unlikely to give you a good reference, then use the other.

I have one IC position listed on my resume by noting the company that contracted me AND on behalf of what company (I was actually providing work) because the name of that company is very good. So, if the company is very well known or very important I'd try to find a way to get it on there.

On my resume, I have the contract job listed as Client Company (through Outsourcing Company) and right below, make a notation that the position was a contract job.
