Do you like workplaces that allow workers to bring their pets?

After reading some of the threads around here, I might be afraid to take my dog, for fear someone would decide she would make a good lunch or dinner.
There are some strange folks out there.

While the concept may sound nice, there are so many practical difficulties (i.e. distraction, liabilities, allergies, animals tearing up things, obnoxious or aggressive animals- particularly if a pushy boss brings them in and thinks they're cute) in a large corporate type work environment (aside from the pet store or zoo examples given) but that is best suited for really small workplaces (meaning 2 or 3 people maybe) or family businesses where everyone gets along extremely well and are friendly outside of work, businesses that don't have constant public contact where barking dogs or yacking birds would be unprofessional, or someone working for themselves.
