I had a few jobs early in my adult life, but I've really only had one full time employer in my working career that I've been with for years. I'm not extremely happy, but not extremely unhappy. Since I don't really know what it's like to work for anyone else, how do I know if there is something better out there or if I should be happy with what I have?
At almost any other point in the history of the world I'd suggest that you explore the options and move to make one of them happen...
But not at THIS point in history. Ya know?

That's what I was afraid of, darn I wish I was born in Roman times, or the 50's.
Don't leave. I started the..." I can make more money" mantra...and wish I had stayed teaching school. I have had to work with mean people, bullies, back stabbers...I used to work with nice people, just great folks...now...it is every one for himself...

I guess it comes down to this, if you go elsewhere to a similar type - as its likely you will be qualified for this.
I have often wanted to try different types of jobs - but found the job market and employers inflexible, and you nearly always get interview for your previous experience.
If its down to people, you will meet good and bad everywhere,
I think it comes down to - Where can you gain advantage ? If you go to another employer, and spend 3 months getting trained up, just to as good as the average then - you'll do ok.
You need to sit down look at your experience, the types of jobs, you interests and plot a path makes things to your advantage, and stand out.
Well, there's really no harm in looking to see what is out there. Looking and accepting are two different things.
If you do receive an offer, that is the time you have to think about reasons for leaving. In my opinion, you shouldn't leave unless you can identify exactly what is wrong with your current job, and how the new job will resolve that. Otherwise it's just a change of address.
