Speaking of pooing in public, why does it seem that my kids save their pooping for when we go out somewhere? I could write a book on reviews of every local bathroom in stores and restaurants.

The reason I do not like to go to the bathroom in the diner I work at is the damned toilet overflows a lot. It has happened to me with # 1 I am happy that I have only had to peeee.

Also when I am on the pot , I do not want to talk to the person in the next stall or someone that is washing their hands. They see who I am going in the stall and startt a conversation. Please just let me do my business

Eeeewwweee That IS creepy when customers are trying to engage you in conversation while you are in a stall ... Are they asking you for a drink refill or something????

Oh, I was reading through this and realized that I forgot to include two of the worst workplace poops I've ever had, both while living/working in Asia:

I was teaching at a school for young children, then out of nowhere really had to go while in the middle of a class. I told them to keep calm and quiet and I would give them a prize when I got back (which were just these stickers they wanted to collect.) Anyway, the school did NOT have regular toilets, but instead had these toilets made specifically for small children, built proportionately for smaller people. I couldn't go to another floor either, because the receptionist would have seen me walk out while I was supposed to be teaching. Yeah... an adult on one of those toilets looked about like an adult on a tricycle.

I also got really sick there (at a different school) and had to take this medicine that made me go a lot. The only bathroom I could use in that building aside from more small toilets was one that looked like this:

That was the WORST experience until I kind of got the hang of it.

This thread delights me no end.

I am so glad I work for myself now. The stories here take me back to my miserable cubicle days. I can pee anytime, anywhere...but poop? Fuggedaboudit! I've got to be home; or failing that, utterly alone in the public facility. It's reassuring to read I'm not the only one.

I used to work in a building that was over 100 yrs old that had really $h!tty plumbing (pun kind of intended, lol ) and on top of that people didn't have the best bathroom habits. We had those toilet seat covers available that were supposedly flushable but since the plumbing was so bad the toilets would often get clogged. That would leave for walking in to some, uh, unpleasant sights sometimes. Those of us who had sense would try to flush the toilet before going to make sure that it actually worked.

One day someone got so fed up with it that they left this note on the door of one of the dirty stalls, written in capital letters:

"I KNOW YOU FELT THAT COME OUT. NOW FLUSH IT D*MN IT."

I wish I knew who left that so I could have gone and thanked them personally, lol!

I never had this problem until some years ago when I had a job at a small company with only 2 stalls and it dawned on me that you could clearly hear everything the person in the other stall was doing (and worse also be heard). Ever since, I prefer the bathroom to be empty and if people are in there and its quiet, I have a major time going.

I am trying to get past it but I also notice other women in the restroom sitting there quietly waiting for others to leave before they go to, so I know others are self conscious too.
I would always go to bathrooms on another floor in my bldg so that no coworkers would hear or see me. In one of my jobs, I was lucky that one floor was ALL women so I had the entire mens' room to myself when I used that floor.
