Its good to keep your eyes open for a new job you never know.
If I were just starting fresh out of college, a job with extensive travel would be no probelm. I've been working for a while and I'm not up to that kind of travel at this point. Getting on and off airplanes, hotel food, meetings all day, get's old fast. Leaving out on Sunday to get to the next place by car Monday morning, that sounds good but it will ware you out after a while.

Also depends on what you are making in the current job - if your current compensation is good enough for you to buy what you want to buy, unless you have a specific "mission" for the 40% raise, it's not that big of a motivator.

5 days of travel most weeks would get old fast. Even back when air travel was fun, (that would be the 20th century) 5 days of travel, even 3 days of travel a week is a lot.

Traveling is no longer fun. You practically have to get undressed at the airport, the lines are long, people are cranky, etc.

The flights always seem to be crowded and the lack of manners today have turned planes into flying Greyhound buses.

I don't even consider jobs that are travel all the time. I guess if you like that kind of thing then so be it, I like going to work and coming home, traveling most of the time for work makes it feel like work all the time weather your on the job or in a hotel room.

M3, that was another this. My current gig pays very well and the added 40% would have been great to add to my stash but it just wasn't worth it. I like getting home at "regular" hours and hanging with friends on Thursday's at a happy hour....or catching a Wednesday night Hockey game.

Those moments mena more to me than the 40% salary increase.

That's it Seain, travel is no longer fun be it for work or play. It's just to much work involved and yes, people's lack of consideration does not fly with me as I get annoyed by it. People seem to think they are the only person on the plane or they are the only person that is trying to get some where.

I used to travel for vacation quite often, now I just take short near by drives to places or a nice road trip. I do not like to fly anymore. Flying is a child hood love affair for me, I love to fly but it's just not fun anymore.

No it isn't. And I swear Southwest Airlines crams in more seats than other carriers.

There is nothing pleasant about it.

I was on a flight and the attendant gave me my Heineken for free. She said "the beer is on me, you're only the 2nd person on here who has said please and thank you". And it was a crowded flight.

I think they should start enforcing a dress code on planes...LOL.

There is nothing fun about flying anymore.
