I'm amused by people who exhibit screwball behavior and then deny they're screwballs. Why get tatooed and then argue for it's normalcy; isn't it's NOT being normal the main reason for getting one?
Of course one can argue that so many sterile and inoffensive young bourgeois people are getting them that they no longer are a sign of screwball behavior. But if tatoos are now to be considered genteel, normal and proper why get one? To conform?
There are certainly many different reasons for getting a tattoo. I can tell you this. If you google "percentage of peole with tattoos"
The numbers appear to be significant and mostly likely rising.
According to a 2006 survey conducted by Pew Research, 40 percent of Americans between the ages of 26 and 40 have at least one tattoo; 36 percent of those age 18-25 report having a tattoo.
I'd bet more that they have a tattoo rather than a tatoo...
