I'm currently dealing with some possible unresolvable issues at work having to do with basically unprofessionalism,harrassment,etc.
If I do decide to look for a new job,what would I list as my reasons for leaving this current one without raising too many questions?...

Closer to home is always a good reason, if it's true.

That one is ok I guess,though in times like these I wouldn't want to limit myself in terms of travel...plus I had previously worked in other places that were just as distant. I just have to think of a professional way to describe that unprofessional environment...maybe I'll just say it outright,but is that enough of a reason to leave a job?...

All sorts of reasons for leaving a job: more money, closer to home, business is down. Then there are the strange ones: no McDonalds nearby, dress code too strict, bad parking situation. One of the major reasons, as well as for being fired, is personality conflict. This seems to be your case.

professional growth, more challenging.....

Do not list that it is closer to home if it isn't... this is also a bad reason because you could be seen as troublesome

I'm dealing with a very similar situation where a 'personality conflict' is a very light way of putting it. I've been telling interviewers "Position being eliminated" -- immediately stops any further questioning besides the 'When can you start?' -- Immediately!

Part of me still wonders if they contact your employer and what they ask...that's why I want to be as honest as possible.

Do NOT bring up the conflict situation. This will raise a red flag that you do not want raised.

Good reasons to mention: Rumors of layoffs, cutting back, company not doing as good as before, "the writing is on the wall" about cutbacks, no potential for growth - possibly due to cutbacks or small size of company or location(city/state) of your position.

Never bring up conflict or issues with harassment or any personal issues even if it is 100% not your fault. You can lose a job opportunity because of this. They might not want to take a chance with someone that has issues with others.

Mention how you love your job and your team if it ever came up in discussion. It's just that the company isn't doing that well, blah, blah, blah and you are looking for a better opportunity.

Welcome to the club. I just resigned from my job today after 6 months with no notice. It was taking a toll on my physical health and I was making too many mistakes already. Have no idea how I am going to spin this but oh well.

I can relate to that,but as I've gotten older and more experienced I've learned to plan ahead if I'm planning on leaving so as not to screw up future prospects. In other words I can start to see a sinking ship and plan accordingly before the stress gets too much;
