Obama said there are a million jobs out there! You have already limited yourself by wanting something close by, yet you are moving due do a rent increase. Unless you know where you'll be living in the future, it's hard to look for a job that is close by. While you're pacing yourself when applying for work, other people are pouncing on the jobs.
Here's the deal, you don't have to use all of the unemployment weeks, you can stop pacing yourself and find a job. It's OK to find a work before the bennies expire, trust me, it's OK.
I didn't mention anything about a two hour commute in my post. It's silly to slow down the process of applying for work because you're afraid you'll run out job openings. New jobs open all the time, keep applying.

It's really only 2 companies I want to work for and i spend all my time coming up with ways to get in the door with one of them.
It sounds like I'm right to be cautious, and it sounds like CL jobs are hit and miss. I have responded to 2, both times with some of my work experience and qualifications, but never with any contact info besides my e-mail address. Both times I asked where to send my resume. I heard nothing from the first, and so far no increase in spam. We'll see what happens with the second.
So far no response from the 2nd either. I guess it has only been a couple business days though.
