This is a field that I am very interested in and was wondering whether you really need a degree in it or can you work your way up in this field by starting at the bottom? What are the PROS & CONS? Do you worry about 'fraudsters' coming after you ? Is it a fun job? Boring? Scary? What would be the best way to get into this field?

Be prepared to be on the road away from home a lot and working a non-standard schedule.
