Actually Wyndsong, it was a possibility of an interview, with a very poorly labeled thread title. While I agree one should go after it, would he have gotten it? Not sure.
Yea, I saw that later in the thread. I still think it's rediculous not to try for a job... what ever happend to "a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" sort of work ethic?? GAH!
Just take the job. Should the temporary job be only temporary you will have the rest of the unused unemployment available to you. The flip side is that it could lead to a permanent position. Permanent means benefits and vacation days, I would be thrilled. I actually begged for a 8.25 an hour job which was minimum wage in my former state so 11.00 doesn't sound bad to me. Believe me when I tell you that I had earned much more than from my last employer.
Exhibit A nothing, I'm no where near 99 weeks of UC, only 10 weeks. The month of March should bring me very close to being employed again or if not almost employed at the end of the month.
WOW! That's so much better.. so instead of working your ass off to get a job now, you're going to wait around and see if you get one 4 weeks later? When if you are that close to getting a great job, there's still no reason not to take an "ok" job now.
I don't understand this mentality at all! Wouldn't it be better to be working, making more money than UE while waiting for this better job to come along? What happens if the better job doesn't come along? You'll have missed out on this one and will have nothing else.

You're definitely exhibit A.
I'm going to say this one more time before I head to the bathroom, I would have jumped at the $11.00 if it was in my field and since it's not I rather not interview for the job. The job is closed to home which was good but it's not a position I have interest in.
Guys, calm down, he's clearly looking for a job...
Didn't you hear him say he takes his phone off straight to voice mail mode when he wakes at 10am?
It's not like he's just wasting his day away browsing these forums & watching TV with his phone set to automatic voice mail...jeez guys..
I tried answering the phone this morning and it was a telemarketer and I will be going back to set the phone to voicemail for a employer to leave a message like I been doing.
I probably would get it which is another reason not to go.
But now you'll never know and have successfully trounced an opportunity which will come back and bite you.

You don't find it even a little odd that people who don't live in Philly know what's happening there? I'm confused and this is NOT a personal attack but I recall that, just a year or so ago, your state governor was cutting state funding to non profits.
At the time I pointed this out to you and suggested that you maybe look outside the box. Your response was that I didn't know what I was talking about. And you didn't even know the name of your Governor.
You're your own worst enemy, TVSG.
