Unemployed people got to eat until they find a job mister
First off, I ain't no mister. Second of all, it isn't the Government or previous employers problem if the employee didn't manage their funds properly in the event the job would no longer be there. There is absolutely no reason why UE should be longer than 6mths, hell, I would even say 3mths, but that would get a lot of peoples panties in a bunch

I can't wait until your rent goes up in a couple of months.

That's great news. Now you can move out of the cramped little studio into a much larger upscale place in a better area, buy a car, trash the Froot Loops for filet mignon, not have to worry about affording the $50 rates of the night time female companions (must have been very rough on the UE stipend) - and I bet you'll soon have LOTS of new friends happy to help you spend the money. Excellent news all around. Congratulations.
