I'll let you in on a little secret; you are not "one of the guys".

Don't you even wonder why conversations dwindle down to a murmur when you walk up to people? Everybody knows that you are the eyes and ears of the boss. Everyone has heard the stories about you overhearing conversations in the men's room and running into her office to tell her what you heard.

I know you complain that we never go out for drinks after work. Well, guess what? We do. We just don't invite you. You make us uncomfortable and on our guard all the time.

You are great for workplace security though. Everybody knows that if they don't password-protect their computers when they step away, you will walk up and open their tabs and read emails and instant messages.

You should just stop trying to be everybody's friend. You can't have it both ways. You chose to be a henchman. Just know your role and stay at your desk.

(Thanks - I had to get that off my chest!)

Let's hear it for people who are so passive-aggressive that they don't have the courage to say things to people's faces.

I don't like passive agressive BUT...

What's he supposed to do? Stir it up? Make the problem worse? Sometimes you just gotta get it off your chest so you can move beyond it. This is the perfect place to do it because there are no repercussions. And sometimes, when you say it out loud, it sounds ridiculous that something like this would get on your nerves...but the truth is, people like this are extremely irritating.

I get it. Go have a drink and be thankful you're not that guy!

The OP is supposed to not talk about someone behind their back. Either do something to try and help the guy out, or shut up. Complaining just to complain is more than useless, and always makes the problem worse.

So now, not only is there an obnoxious guy in the office, but there is a group of toxic people who gossip and spread rumors also.

If the little snitch is your equal at work, call him out about his behavior. If he's some kind of management type, there's other ways.

There is this type of person at every job. Some manager's management style is to encourage it. I've seen it in industry, the military and education.

This is the perfect place to address the situation? You'll get some sympathy, and feel some vengeance, though nothing will be accomplished. What a waste of time. I've had people of both sexes act the same towards me.

Every office has one, so do we.

I am friends with her, (so she thinks). But, one time the boss was going on vacation and she tells me she can't, I say why?, what are you the office tattle tale?.

She just looked at me and said no, but she knew, I knew what time it was.

Can't fool an old timer like me, it just doesn't happen, I wrote the book on office politics. Ha!
