While I agree the two hour commute would be a big negative, I can't see why otherwise you would not want to interview for the job just because it is outside what you have done in the past.

I travel from NJ to NYC everyday on a commuter train/then subway. 1hr each way. It's not that bad, and I don't even get $15/hr with a college degree and newly aqquired diploma from a vocational school.
I'm thinking you meant 4hrs a day.

I would call the lady Monday and give it a chance before someone else scoops it up.

If it were 4 hours round trip, my bet is he'd have answered. If 2 hours was round trip, that is not unusual at all. And no car is a huge liability.Oh well, yes, March is now shot, and obviously, it was not productive.

I would have given it some thought if it was closer but that's too far a distance for a "SINK or SWIM" type of position.

I'm going to say again

This type of job is a "SINK or SWIM" position that and your performance is what keeps the DOORS OPEN. If you are unable to attract new business then you are fired.

Why put myself in a job like that when it's a 95% chance I will be back in my drawls receiving U/C again? Whenever I start working again I want to be employed for 5 years minimum.

It is ironic, and Orwellian, that a temp agency is filling a spot helping others get jobs. No doubt, the cleints applicants would never dream the person trying to place them is not permanently employed themselves. That is alarming.
