This is fast food where talking about? WHAT STANDARDS COULD THEY POSSIBLY HAVE, THAT I DO NOT FIT?? And trust me, I'll fit.
Many people my age don't drive, yet they manage to have a job. Besides, I always arrive on time. Never late for anything. Won perfect attendance 3 years in row. I live across the street to a Duncan Donuts. My first thought was, they'd have to hire me, because I'M RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. I COULD NEVER BE LATE. If I were late, then I probably died. Did they hire me? Nope. I go in there time to time to see how they're doing. They're sloppy, always busy, and the employees are immature and act silly on the job (Plus, this DD is always understaffed). They left the cash register unattended, and there were about 4 of them sticking their head in the drive through window trying to fix an order. Plus, there was a long line. I'm just standing there like, "They didn't hire me, but they hired these buffoons? Who'd they have blow to get this job?" Don't act like that doesn't happen! Don't judge me.

Excuse me? I'm sorry, I'm really such a lady.
If they hired you, you'd last about a month. They can probably feel your attitude right through the computer questionnaire. You'd have to be outgoing ALL the time....privately you can hate the 'fast food culture' all you like, but to GET the job you have to act like its your employment dream, that you've always wanted to work there, and that you LOVE Mickey D's. I doubt you are up to that challenge.

By the way, since you live RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET, did you mange to look outside and see that its really spelled, "Dunkin' Donuts?"

OP does have an issue or a whole nest of them. Pink is one of them. Did anyone bother to read her posts in other threads?

Now, now, be fair. I did nicely ask her earlier in this thread to not use the pink which hurts my eyes and she did nicely comply with the request.

Right, because landscaper and restaurant line cook are such high paying, no effort jobs.

Just because someone speaks Spanish does not necessarily mean they're an illegal alien. Besides, those workers tend to be in other industries. I agree with 1208, if they do get into food service it's usually in actual restaurants, not in fast food.

If a lot of the customers speak Spanish, why would a manager hire someone who doesn't? If it's like a lot of places, there are always suburban areas where it wouldn't be as important, if I were bound and determined to work in fast food I would try to work in one of those.

This is one thing which angers me no end, the assumption by so many that if a Hispanic (or an Asian) doesn't speak very good English it's automatically assumed that there's an illegal in the house. Narrow minded ignorance at its worst.

I call them
They tell me they're hiring, must apply online

Does the job survey selecting the right answers, "Strongly AGREE, Strongly Disagree." Blah, blah, blah. You know the drill.

So like, what's the deal?? Why am I not good enough for them? IT'S MCDONALD'S!!!

I'm nice, charming, interactive, and English is my first language. No offense, but all 5 McDonald's in my town are runned by any Spanish race.

I'm available all the time. Weekends, holidays, blah-dee-blah! LIKE WTF!!

My only con is I can't drive, and I don't have connections.

I see the bummiest people at my school get jobs, and I'm not employed. It's not fair.

And now I'm just sitting here jamming my fingers against a keyboard, telling you people how McDonald's won't hire me!!

Learn how to recognize real words (runned is not a word), learn how to drive, drop the attitude, use a different color font and last but certainly the most important...................WAH..........quit whining and keep looking
