The corporations want all the benefits of living in a rich, stable nation with great infrastructure, a safe political system, and favorable tax laws, but they won't want to provide any jobs for the people in that nation because it would be "too expensive." If they all love slave labor so much, maybe they should live in nations that promote it... or, maybe we should outsource the executives to get cheaper, slave labor replacements.
A capitalistic society won`t last very long when only a very few are making all the money. It may last a generation or maybe two if a government can find creative ways to prolong fate. So those born in those generations will be doing great. But eventually their children or grandchildren will suffer the consequences.
Being in a global economic environment where all of the civilized nation`s money is tied together, will bring worldwide collapse. Those making the fortunes and farming their work out to lower paying labor will eventually feel the brunt. People in this country and in Europe will no longer have expendable income to sustain their corporations or business. Which means eventually their paper money won`t be worth anything and their housing and other wordly possesions will lose monetary value.
It may take a generation or two (which doesn`t do us much good today) but capitalism can`t survive without a middle class. So we will have those relative few at the top ,and the rest at the bottom that can`t afford quality goods and services that those at the top provide.
I`m not saying it is going to end up that way. But if we don`t discover an answer and turn things around quickly, it could end up like that in the next 25 yrs. We are in the beginning stages of it right now. Just my opinion.

Oh please. I have worked for large companies, and also for small family owned companies. Family owned companies are out there, and they are the best. What people don't like is they don't have the (remote) possibility of reaching the stars in a family owned company. Aside from that, 40K-60K might be top dollar at smaller family owned companies, and mountains of OT might not be in the cards for those who need it. Unfortunately, it's often the corporations who are the main customers and source of income for small family owned businesses, and they know how to get what they want as cheap as possible. Those smaller companies are out there, but no one wants to struggle with them. For work/life balance, I prefer the smaller places, and you tend not to cross paths with the sociopaths in those places.

It should be a law that employers must pay a wage that doesn't require the employee to rely on the government for basics. If a company doesn't afford a wage that allows its employees to keep a roof over there head, the lights on, and food on the table, that is a problem.

You should not be able to work full time and live in poverty. But workers rights are being eroded. Companies aren't entitled to the government subsidized labor they've been enjoying. Exploiting internships because there is little to no oversight to show they are breaking the law with the majority of them by reaping immediate benefit and using them to replace regular paying jobs.

A job that affords someone the slightest bit of independence doesn't seem like entitlement.

Actually get out there and help other people yourself, instead of relying on someone else (aka, a government program) to do that work for you.
You consistently and frequently attack people, and tell them it's 'their fault', for their job or economic woes.

Your charitable contributions to society do not give you license to berate people on a message board about 'personal responsibility'.
