I understand companies now do not respond because of 1. liability reasons and 2. the recruiter or manager does not want to get sucked into explaining why the candidate did not get the job. The easist thing for them is to ignore the candidate, which is completely unacceptable.
All I ask for is a simple email saying that I am no longer being considered. To be fair, in my experience more often than not I have received a response as opposed to total silence.
However there are still cases of hearing nothing back. -For example I interviewed with one company and I don't just mean phone interview, I had 2 follow up in-person interviews and even after that they did not give me a courtesy rejection email.
Really, I mean really, you could not take the minuscule amount of time it takes to send a rejection email?
I was kind of different in regards to the no response after a interview because I felt like it gave me hope the longer I went without a response. Like I was hoping I would be surprised one day and contacted out of the blue about the job. So not hearing anything never bothered me
