"You don't deserve to have a job!"
That's what I feel like telling 2 of the people I RECENTLY HIRED.
One of them has called off 1 time and has been tardy twice within her first 15 days.
The other guy has been late 3 times within the first 45 days.
These people are on their way out. They don't deserve to have a job.
They get 4 total "chances" before it's bye bye.
I want to tell my boss, can we make an exception and just let them go now. Why wait, they are not going to make it past their first 90 days of probation.

That's exactly my point.
It's people like you that need/want a job that would show up every day and on time and possibly early!

Wait? What is it that you do and how much are you paying them? That could have a little something to do with it..maybe slightly.

You make a good point but it's not an excuse.
Take every job serious, be it low pay or high pay. Some times you start low and end up high. Everyone needs to start somewhere.
My guess is he's managing a bunch of low paying, low skilled hourly workers, that's based on his other threads he's created.

That is b.s.
That is a total b.s. mentality.
You sign up for a job, you DO that job wholeheartedly and to the best of your ability. Or you quit and allow someone with a better attitude to work there.
Saying, "Oh, I am not showing up on time or at all because the pay sucks is NOT a valid argument."

Figures. I remember a poster talking about how people don't do a good job then he paid them $8.15. That him?

It isn't BS. It's true in the eyes of some people. They take any old job to "get by" and just do whatever.
Why do you think a lot of minimum wage customer service oriented businesses have bad customer service?
You know its the truth.

isnlt this a bit of a reflection on your skills at hiring responsible people. Although they clearly may not be deserving of the job due to their lack of responsinbility, you equally have failed the company.
