So I picked up my phone a few minutes ago to put it on the charger and noticed I had a missed call and a voice mail. Check the number to see who it was, didn't recognize it. Check the voice mail and it was a Panda Express I had applied at a few weeks ago or so. They want me to come in for an interview tomorrow (though the city they mentioned isn't the one the number matches with online, so I'm a bit confused there) and told me to call them back to confirm. The call came about 3 hours ago, it's after 9:30pm now. I didn't have my phone on hand when the call came, I was at the pool with my girlfriend at the time. I figured I'll just call back sometime in the morning, I was gonna be out tomorrow doing job hunting anyways. Will that be ok if I wait to call then, since I don't think it'd look good calling back this time of night, if anyone is even there to answer, or should I count my losses and just keep with my original plans tomorrow?
Call and leave a message. Not getting a call happens, but waiting until the am sends the wrong message. So call now, likely no one will answer, leave a message, and tell them that you are interested in the interview.
Got an answer surprisingly. They transferred me over to who I assume is the manager right now. Was told the location (which is different from the number's location) and to call back in a little bit, they are busy right now.
It's Panda Express not ExxonMobil (no offense) so you should be fine. Usually, most of the initial interviews are done over the phone by HR located at their corporate offices. To answer your question, I would call them ASAP and let them know you are sorry you missed their call and are still interested in the XYZ position and just wait.
Good luck and I applaud you for getting a job. No matter what you will be doing, a job is a job and to me a person who is willing to seek out employment rather than sit on their butt and complain, is a good person and a sign of a person with character.
Always call back as soon as possible for a phone interview, even if you have to leave a message.
I would not call the business back later than 9 pm local time wherever that may be. If you call in the morning, maybe 7 am earliest (their) local time, if known.

stick with your first answer, call back ASAP. if they don't answer, leave a message. It shows that when you got the message you truly missed it and called back.
