We relocated from New York to Pittsburgh in the summer. We had spent 26 years in New York and for 20 of them I was self employed. We decided to relocate for the schools, cost of living, and lifestyle.

So now I am beginning to job hunt. It is nerve wrecking, scary, exciting and thrilling. But I dont know where to start. I am hoping to go to some temp agencies next week. I did apply to some jobs online ; monster.com, companies websites etc. I do have a recent associates in accounting and lots of experience running a business. My resume could be better laid out.

Does anyone have any advice on the initial job search, interviews etc. Obviously I havent looked for a job in a long time so I dont know what the protocol is these days.

thanks
d

You need structure. M-W-F I job-hunt and apply for jobs. Tu-Th I study to test for certifications and new methodologies.

I have three job search sites in my regular rotation, and have a profile, and specific searches saved. I just hit those in succession and apply for as many jobs as I can. I don't get many interviews, so not sure how I'd handle multiple ones.
