Also, sell everything you can not carry, buy a bus ticket and take a risk at a new area. You can bus across the country under $150. Take a bus to S. Dakota and work around the oil fields.

While most places in the US are not blessed with good public transport (and I used the word "blessed" because it practically takes an act of God to get it) riding a bike 6 miles isn't too bad after training for it.

If the terrain is flat, then 6 miles/day isn't bad. It's a 3 mile commute one way. It's about 15-17 minutes. Once they save up enough money, they can catch up on maintenance and repairs for the car. Then, it's time to look for a better job.

Around here almost everyone in the OP's situation has become a professional student and lives on the easy to get gov loans.Sad to watch,more debt is not good for your future.

Get an education in something useful. You will have a job in not time. Employers are desperate for skilled workers.

A lot of busses, have a system to store them on the front of the bus. The bike is ok unless the bus runs into something.
