I couldn't get through the day without it!Never in front of customers,of course.Sometimes before my store opens I like to stand on the Customer Service counter and yell it because I know I won't be able to later in the day.
Most desk workers don't know how to use profane language and blasphemy; they lack the proper vehemence, insouciance and rhythm and so sound lame and self conscious when using it. As Twain said, they know the words but not the music.
If someone would do that where I worked, and I was the boss, I would take $100 out of their paycheck.
Does she have a supervisor? I would tell her off. I would clearly tell her that I don't see the purpose of using such language at work. Unless I could complain to the ppl above her.
BTW You have to "THANK" Hollywood for promoting foul language. With so many stupid parents out there today, there is no wonder people talk like this.
At my last job in a law firm, F bombs were dropped with regularity. Got VERY tired of hearing it. Not just F bombs, though....a lot of general profanity and lots of sexual innuendo and jokes of that nature. NOT directed at any women who worked there, of course, but there were instances of referring to female clients as b****es, and that really stirred my ire on many occasions.
It's one thing if you're having a private conversation at a private volume (even if it's at work) and someone overhears it because they move within earshot . . . but it's completely inappropriate and unprofessional to address mixed company with profanity.
I'm from NJ and casual cursing is just part of the culture . . . before kids I was up there with the best of them. I don't think there's anything wrong with two consenting adults, engaged in a creative conversation, dropping a few f-bombs. There's really no wrong location to do it - only wrong audiences.
You should never use that kind of language with people you aren't friends with and just because you are friends with someone doesn't mean that every situation is appropriate.
My step mom always said that cursing is just a filler word for the stupid man. The older I have gotten the more of a potty mouth I have obtained which is sad really. I sometimes catch myself saying an off word here or there at work but NEVER the F word.
Your step mom is right, it is a filler... and sometimes I wonder if people even know how to talk without cursing...I wouldn't say a man who curses is "stupid" though, cause I know a lot of very smart people that do.

I don't think that is whats meant to be taken away from that. Its meant to say that you should strive to be smarter than the person who curses and not swear. Its more of a stab at your intelligence should you decide to do it. Its not implying that you are stupid overall.
