feh. Someone having sent a resume and asking for a follow-up is different from some one who cold calls looking for work. There are places where what you say is true, and there are others where you have to beat your way through the guards to even be noticed.
I suspect the whole approach being used is only marginally effective anyway. A resume sent without a specific person as the target is like a paper airplane shot over a manure pit.
Oh does that sum up job seeking perfectly if you can't direct your interest to a specific person. I'm so going to use this line in the future.
Lots and lots of people out there find themselves sending out thousands of resumes and applications with no responses back for all jobs. Often times alot of the "lack of professionalism" is put on the job seeker but it should be put on the employer too. Not responding to someone who sent you a job application is just that, a lack of professionalism. It goes both ways.

How is it a lack of professionalism if someone doesn't hear back from a employer after applying to a job? Their resume was not appealing enough to be called for a interview.
It's even worse if you actually went to an interview and didn't get called back. When I applied to target the first time I got an email a few days later saying I wasn't qualified. I don't know how I wasn't qualified when I never even was interviewed or seen in person. Few months later I tried again and got no rejection email.
thx for the votes... i reached out to a manager at the local office, rather than trying to get someone in the NoVa office this week... he said to keep in touch, so we will see...
They have a reason for this ( no phone calls ) and if I owned the company,
or intervied you in person, or found out you called any way,
I would tear up your app right in front of you, and say get off of the property.
You do not listen, or take orders, or do what you are told,
You can not be trusted in my company, and we do not want you ! ! !
Also if they have not called you they don't need you right now, but maybe later ! ! !
.
With an attitude like that, you will never own a company.
