Each area of the country deals with something. I have traffic. Lots of it. Most days I am 20-30 minutes early to work to make sure that I am not late. I check te traffic in the am, I see if there are any issues, and I plan accordingly. Those days, I leave even earlier. I get up 1.5 hours before work to make sure I am ready to leave 45 minutes before I start work...to make a 7 mile drive.

No matter what time I got up, I could not have gotten to work if the roads were not plowed. And, as I said, in at least one case, it would have been illegal for me to have even attempted to get to work.

I do not understand why you and others here have such a problem with people staying home when roads are impassible, as long as they are willing to either use vacation time or make up the lost time, and as long as they get their work done.
