Just out of plain curiosity, why did you even start this thread when your mind was obviously made up that the demands of your former employer were ludicrous? I suppose you must have been under the assumption that everyone who responded would agree with you?
most companies want their property back when the relationship is terminated. while they may not sue you for the $70 it will leave you on worst terms with the company than you already are. if you have it just mail it to them or go in and drop it off. easier to move on with your life when theres no ties life
Good luck getting a new job. At any dealership or shop. That is one amazingly small world and once you are a thief you will always be seen as a thief. Be as angry as you want, but keeping their stuff is theft. If they shorted your final check by $70, you would be furious...but stealing from them is ok?
Gee, can't imagine why you were fired with an attitude this great.
I was fired because I could not do master level tech work fast enough with my 2 years of experience and on top of that the service manager there is a complete retard.
They make no money at that dealership because they dont have any shop equipment besides a tire machine and brake machine so they don't upsell any services.
Their sales team sucks and the only time customers come back is for free oil changes and warranty work.

I think its ridicolous.
I never heard of a job asking for uniforms back.
I have worked at plenty of shops and not 1 ask to return my uniforms besides this Moderator cut: snip did.
When I left they were i the whole financially.
I wanted people's opinion on this.

It can be a security breach if you have the uniforms after leaving. When I retired after 28 years I had to give back my name tag and all keys to the building. This is normal procedure for businesses.
Did you not read my last post. I said MASTER LEVEL tech work with 2 years of experience. This means no training, no help to pull the rear end out of titan or diagnose a problem with a bcm...
I can do that now that I have had formal training at the dealership that I'm at now but Moderator cut: snip just threw jobs at me .Their master level tech quit and they expected a LUBE technician to pick up the slack without any training
Moderator cut: snip
