Another one who hates my job. After 30 yrs of doing this and promoted to FC and taking a step- back still have had a guts full. I want out so desperately but don't know what job to do now. I love animals, my hobbies have always being walking, playing sport for fun, and outdoors. Just don't know which way to turn as need to work and earn a fairly reasonable salary to pay off mortgage.

Any ideas anyone of people hiring for non-accounting/financial people with transferable skills in the Uk around the Herts/Bucks area

Another accountant who wouldn't mind something new. I'm in healthcare accounting right now. It's ok, but long hours and ALWAYS a fire drill (financials/budgets due YESTERDAY! HURRY UP! you get the idea). Problem for me is that as one recruiter told me "you have an excellent skill set for an employer looking for an accountant, not so much for anything else" I would personally love some sort of consulting job where I get to work with different clients. On what I have no idea (NOT AUDIT though). But I would like a better work life balance than what I currently have. The easiest transition would have been to say a Financial Analyst, but I was surprised at just how different the skillsets are. So yeah, I'm still plugging away in accounting for now.
