Sounds real good. Can't really compare but as a restaurant manager I've been on the receiving end of some cussing as well. It happens...but then there are so many nice people as well. I sat in the CAM class a few weeks ago and put in the request to sit in an exam as well. The waiting game has started LOL. But I liked what I saw and heard in class. So I'm lookin forward to being licensed eventhough that'll be a few months down the road...

And yes sometimes you have to take measures but when given ample warning and notices there's only so much you can do. But yeah it still sucks (pardon my French) to have to do that. When you are fair and yet show some compassion that goes a long way too though.

And yes sorry I meant Association Manager in an earlier post LOL.

Little update...

I am currently a licensed CAM and just obtained my real estate sales license as well. Have not had any luck in securing a CAM position yet so in the mean time I am in real estate see if I can get some more experience in the real estate field that might help me eventually land a CAM position.

That's about it LOL

Having both licenses would be an asset, IMO. There is a website- condojobs.com that I have used in the past when looking to hire CAMs. The CAM pays 5% of first year salary to condojobs, but this fee could be negotiated with the company that is offering the position.

I have worked for two companies. The first has stopped managing in FL and I was basically working on my own from home and onsite. The company I am with now is great and I am very happy. I like working out of an office in an environment where we can bounce "what ifs" off of one another.

Both jobs were posted on craigslist. I couldn't believe that I got even one that way, as there are so many bogus offerings on CL.

Congratulations and keep us posted!

Am I qualified for the same title positions with a Real Estate License, when applying for a position that would require a CAM License?

They are very different licenses, and according to friends who hold both, anyone with a fifth grade education can pass the FL RE license test, but the CAM test is far more difficult.

@HIF
Thank you for the craigslist tip. I am definitely checking that one out. I heard about condojobs but was kind of held back due to the fee. Then again if that brings me the job I want why not.

@izannimda
Depends from agent to agent of there is money in real estate and I guess what you would consider "money". I am doing a lot of rentals and make money that way. Not a lot, but everything is better than nothing at all.

I had a RE license for two years and thought that the RE exam was more difficult. But, then, I waited more than a year from having taken the course to take the test. Neither were really hard, though, IMO.

That said, a friend who is a RE broker with years of experience has failed the CAM exam twice. I think that the reason is that she has been in the biz and knew about grey areas. Newbies soak up the info in class and spit it back at the exam, while folks with some experience may put too much thought into the questions.
