Recently my boss's boos has given some of the assignments that belong to my boss, like managing meetings and different departmnet projects... I love the chance to show what I have - just wondering why. It's creating friction between me and my immidiate boss. He feels left out... can't get all employees to accept I now manage the meetings. Please offer advice! thanks.

Not your problem to fix. If the boss and the boss's boss are having issues, you don't belong in the middle. As long as your boss resents you managing the meetings, you will never get the support of the others as they don't want to end up in the middle of the mess.

I agree. I don't think I am exactly in the position to say no to my boss's boss and not complete the assigned duties, yet I do not want friction with my immidiate boss but would like him to at least be supportive in the meetings... of course everyone one else too but that's a long road I feel quite in the middle I am completing assignments that should have been completed by my boss long time ago.

You are in no position to say no. That's why I said there really is nothing you can do. Both of them, truth be told, are bad managers...at least in this instance. Do what you are told to do directly and hope they settle it soon. As for your boss being supportive in the meetings, I am guessing that MAY happen over time. But it also may not. Those meetings are going to be absolutely no fun until the fighting dies down. But there is no way to complain about your boss to his boss, and there is no way to complain TO your boss about the situation.

just do as assigned. the main boss should've informed your immediate boss of added responsibilities. it appears that you're being prepped for a promotion. good luck
