No I don't think Security Guards are loser's. I don't think anyone trying to make a living, in today's world is a loser by no means. I will however say the Security Companies themselves, do present themselves as losers. There are really only 2 major one's remaining in this country. As these 2 gobbled up the others that use to be in business. These 2 companies treat their employees terribly. However how badly seems to depend on the location of the company. I work for one of these 2, and I'm retired and need to work part-time. I put up with them, but they disgust me. I'm always looking for another type of part-time job. There just are so few part-time jobs available for older workers.

This.

I think 20 years ago, perhaps lots of occupations were considered "loser" jobs....but not anymore.

i can't stand when anyone classifies any employee group as "losers." i don't consider anyone making an honest buck a loser. 30 years old and working at Mc D? good for him for getting up every day to do a not always pleasant job. janitor, security guard, streetsweeper -- i just see a hard working person trying to survive in this tough economy.

i've had pretty "easy" white collar type jobs all my life and i seriously feel respect for anyone who does anything that's hard, dull, repetitive, backbreaking, dirty, etc.

Why would someone think they're losers? The white collar people who steal from others in their scams are the losers!

Default Security guards are definitely not losers....

Security guards are definitely not losers. They play a vital role in being a deterrent to potential criminals. Although they may not see much action, and appear to be "useless," in fact their presence is extremely important to keeping people and possessions safe.

Most of the security guards I've ever known have been kind and considerate people. Lots of the time, people just walk right by them because they think they aren't "important." Take the time to say hello to your fellow security guard.

I agree with the person above who says that saying such a blanket statement really reveals that person to be an unthinking, ignorant loser. If you're still looking for a security job, here's a great resume sample that can help you write yours: https://resumegenius.com/resume/secu...-resume-sample

Don't listen to your silly friend.

They are my salvation, worked on a psychiatric unit, never used a lot with restraining patient's. However, their presence alone at times was all it took for patient to realize his or her actions and calm down...so not losers to me.
