So the advertising agency I work for is owned by a holding company that has multiple other agencies. So basically, we have a bunch of sister agencies. My question is, in cases like these, when you want to go from one agency to the other is it usually easier? To go from sister agency to sister agency?
The holding company actually has a careers website for all their agencies where you can see what positions are available at other agencies before it goes public.
i haven't experienced it myself but i imagine it would help in at least 2 ways:
1. you at the very least get first crack at the job listings, before the general public. you may also get priority over other applicants the way an internal hire would.
2. if people move between the agencies and the agencies work together, you might find you know someone at the new agency, or the hiring manager knows your boss, etc.
