Most parking garages/lots I've seen accept credit cards, anyway. And I don't know many people who carry and pay for things in cash. The lot attendant would probably do more swiping-of-cards than counting out $5 in change for a $20 bill.
Exactly. And if you view counting out correct change as a marketable skill, you have bigger problems anyway!
At least it keeps a person employed....or haven't you--OP--heard the unemployed are not welcome in the job market. Many ads even state no unemployed apply. The schedule might even be desirable for someone job-hunting if it gives one time off during the day for interviews, etc. Its better than fast foor for $7/hour!

Perhaps not in the La-La the OP lives in. But who knows exactly...
That's decent pay for a job like that. Its a minimum wage job in my area. No one round here would pay $9 an hour for a job like that.
People forget it's a just a simple job, not a career. Not every job can be a career, (who would want to do that for 30 years anyway?) and no employer should have to make a simple job like that into someones career. Its a good job for a older teen, college student, someone with nothing to do in the evening, someone that needs job experience or a retired person.
How much does the OP think this position should pay?
It's not the pay that's the problem.
It's the fact that the employer is trying to hire one person to perform a job for two people while only paying them as if they're doing a job for just one person.
It would be like a company hiring a Receptionist to also be the Janitor for only $9.00 per hour.
