Wow. I could be pretty comfortable off of 26k, I'm not sure how single people with no responsibilities would have troubles with 60k. I guess it depends on CoL, but you can still probably adjust your lifestyle.

If you're having troubles making ends meet over 35k, and you don't have any student loans/outstanding debts, look at your lifestyle and see what you can cut...
