A friend interviewed last week for a job that she is especially qualified for. She had a phone interview first, then 2 days later a FTF.
She was in the FTF for 2 hours. Interviewed first by the hiring manager, then by the immediate supervisor.
At the end of the 2 hours they went over benefits, salary ranges, had her sign the background check consent form, asked her when she could be available to start, and told her HR would be setting her up for a drug screen this next week.
She is thrilled, wants the job, said they talked like she was already there using semantics implying such.
I say she's a ''shoo in'' just waiting for the official salary offer after the BGC and drug screen clear. She is not confident enough to celebrate just yet.
I understand that feeling.
Neither. She is a strong candidate and she is probably one of several.
This ^^^.
I have been in her position, where it sounded like they wrote the job description based off my resume, and still lost out to another candidate.
NEVER count your chickens before they hatch.
The worst part is they usually just say, "We went with someone else," and you don't really get a good explanation of why you weren't chosen.
I hope she gets it, though.
