I am hoping to graduate from university next spring with two BA's with one of them being in psychology. I want to eventually go to graduate school for clinical psychology but I want to take some time after graduating to work.
I do have good experience that I did and am still doing in university but I'm not sure if that's good enough. Would it best be to apply for an internship and then apply for a job in the mental health sector or just try and apply to jobs?
Also, what are some reliable job search engines besides Indeed.com?
I would do an internship. It may help with your admission to grad school and it will help you decide whether you really want to go to grad school. I think a mental health related job would be fine as well (and then we circle back to the internship, which may help you land an entry level job in the field).
I agree with all the comments EXCEPT finding jobs on Craigslist. I was almost scammed by a fake job ad- and believe me, they are all over the place on that site. I am currently doing an internship now, and they are much easier to get than a job. Just do an internship because it is a great resume builder and a great explanation to fill the "employment gaps" question in a job interview. And they keep you "fresh" in your studies so you won't be rusty at your job.

I've searched Craigslist for jobs for a year, and only found one scam. All of the interviews I ran into were legit companies.
Try everything (jobs, internships, temp positions) and be open to all options. Do not restrict yourself to a smaller subset of experience.
