I'm sure it is so frustrating, but HR would need to keep the posting active until the position is filled. If they are still reviewing data from interviews, HR should repost the job. A lot can go wrong with filling a position at this point, from an organizational perspective, so it would be foolish to stop soliciting candidates.
I've interviewed for a company 3 times. I really though things were going well and was hoping to get an offer this week. I just noticed today that they posted another ad for the same job I've been interviewing for. They placed the ad later in the same day that I had my most recent interview.
I'm not sure what to make of it.
What that means is the job was never open so try not to beat yourself up over it. Companies have to post jobs publicly to make it look like they are giving outsiders a chance.

Seriously. Him and his "fake jobs". Now he's claiming "fake job" when the poster he's responding to already had three interviews for the position. Good grief.

It is Just. So. Ridiculous.
Why would any company even bother to waste the time, much less the expense, to post a "fake" job???
So now companies interview people 3 times for fake jobs. Bow before the wisdom of wpd!
Well if it's not a fake job then whoever did the recruiting should be fired if they had to repost the job.
