Are there any known cases of someone's significant other having a felony record and that affecting a persons employment? I have never heard of such and couldn't find any information that confirms this. That's not to say it doesn't happen. Does anyone have any examples of such occurrences of this?
In some careers, yes, if the job requires a security clearance. Of course, this depends on the offence and time period from the offence. When I worked in policing, this was an obvious issue, and any ties to gangs or serious drug offences were usually a deal-breaker. If it was something like smoking pot or a burglary 25 years ago when your husband was just a young stupid kid, then not necessarily.
