It's not you, it's the current circumstances. Yes, it was hard to find people and we had to compete with other emplyers, offering more money and better benefits back in the 90s-2005 or so. Now, we may interview 20 people then re-announce the position to try and get better candidates. It's hard for people like you that are good, qualified applicants but get passed by for the "perfect" candidate. Hopefully times will change again but maybe not completely back to the way it used to be.
I feel for you. I have been through hell and back job searching. I had my family breathing down my neck. I had problems with depression and managing my weight because I stopped caring.
One thing you don't want to do is give up. You have to keep trying, no matter what circumstances come up.
Sorry to hear about that. I know exactly how you feel. I went through an interview process which lasted 2 months, and I ultimately got rejected before the final round.
Just keep at it. If you can, take a day off of job searching to clear your head and stress. Good luck with Microsoft.
I know exactly how you feel. The past 5 jobs that I have gotten an interview for, all 5 of them had me come in for a second (or in some cases 3rd) interview before ultimately telling me to get lost. It just sucks. I have had to miss so much work at my current job for these interviews and they have all been a total waste of time.
If they don't like me, fine. Why does it take them so long to figure it out? In all but one case the company did not get back to me in the time frame that they said they would and it was only after I followed up that they let me know they went with someone else. Just plain rude.
I am really starting to feel desperate and depressed, too.
