If I applied at any retail Walmart, JC Penny, Macys, Target, Kmart, Sears, Toys R Us, or fast food place McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the Box, KFC, Carls Jr. Subway, etc. And they gave me the job after applying and going through the interview process - would they also train me to work there or would they expect me to know everything already?

They will not expect you to hit the ground running without some kind of training. You wouldn't be able to know how to work the registers and other processes if you just were hired off of the streets.

It's retail and fast food... It's not rocket science. They will be able to train you within a week, possibly 2. If you have two braincells to rub together, you will have no problem hitting the hamburger button and tending the change.

They will train you. The smart ones would prefer you have no prior experience, so no bad habits.

I'm not being snarky. Have you ever had a job? Any job?

It's not possible to walk in and be experienced in proprietary systems and internal procedures.

Yes I have had a job before but it's only been 2 jobs, Hot Topic retail in 2007 I quit after a week, and then Borders Books sign promotion in 2011 quit after fainting on the job. The other job I have is my writing for websites, newspapers, and magazines online.

I just applied to Target 4 locations, and got told this "You've completed an application and all questionnaries within the last 60 days. You will be contacted by HR when a position becomes available." I have applied to Target before and when I was applying I saw some positions were listed as AVAILABLE but yet no HR Personal never got in touch with me when applying just now or beforehand.

Then they probably had more qualified applicants. Places like that keep your app on file (sounds like about 60 days) and when entry level jobs are open they can call up the open apps...but someone with previous retail experience will probably get a shot before you do with no experience.
