As a guy I notice as most jobs I've had women get much more slack about dress code. Guys is pretty much cut and dry either suit or khalkis button up and dress shoes. Womens dress codes are less defined or less rigid basically anything which looks professional and not overly revealig. I see women wearing sandals and other casual open toe shoes, essentially baggy solid color tshirts, etc. Just seems women get away with a lot more casual stuff in terms of dress codes. Agree or disagree?

I'm not saying all women look like souches in the workplace but some definately take advantage of a less defined dress code as well as in my opinion knowing most bosses probably aren't going to talk to women about how they dress.

I definately see though women wearing baggy drapy tshirts. Yes I get it may be somewhat stylish and look a bit less casual than a tshirt but its still a baggy tshirt with too much fabric on the neck. I see women wearing black yoga pants like hey its black pants so its dressy. i also see lots of sandals and casual open toe shoes being worn. As a guy I couldn't get away with anything close to this.

my company's dress code is casual, just no shorts (capris are okay) or spaghetti strap tanktops. i think they might even allow sweatpants, but I've never seen anyone wear them.

Women have more fashion options period. My co is casual, though. Some people wear jeans, others go more formal.

yeah seems more companies are going more casual. thats kinda my point. in a true office environment i think everyone keeps some level of standards but as things go more and more casual women get more and more leeeway and get way overly casual

I've seen men wear flip flops in my casual environment. And football t-shirts. And old/faded t-shirts.

If she looks decent (ie, no excess skin, clean).... why should it bother you that much what women wear and if it is or is not a fancy t-shirt?

Does your employer have a written dress code, and is it regularly enforced? We do not, but it has never been a problem with most men wearing a dress shirt, Docker-like pants and leather shoes. The women actually seem to be overdressed compared to the men here. We do have casual Friday when jeans and clean sneakers are allowed. I have seen women get called in for being barefoot (kick off shoes at desk, then go to copier) but that was addressed as a safety issue.

Our dress code is usually pretty relaxed. I think women have more variety in what they wear that meets the code, but it is not a case of women having more slack within the code. Simply, they have more options.

I suppose there is nothing in the code which would prevent men who are tired of sport shirts or button shirts from wearing a nice blouse...

Maybe because women usually look cuter and take more care of their bodies (wax often, beautify, ext.), they are given more leeway to wear revealing clothes. Not to be a douche here, but guys who wear revealing stuff look plain nasty. All that hair on the arms and legs is plain yucky . Please dress up with a crisp oxford shirt or polo and dress pants with a pair of work shoes for work. Though its not mandated, dressing up for work makes me feel like I am ready for accomplishing my tasks today, and provides me with an uplifting sense of confidence. The only time I wear revealing clothes is after a COMPLETE Brazilian wax (including underarms) leaving me with ZERO body hair . FYI, I am a guy.
