I thought maybe some folks are in the same situation and can commiserate. I had a job interview about two weeks ago, I think I got it but due to the Holidays I probably won't find out for another week. Getting the job would mean a doubling of my salary and a move to NYC from rural Florida. Needless to say I've been bouncing off the walls, playing everything out in my head. Thinking maybe others are in the same boat and can relate!

After the interview I just feel super relaxed and whatever way it goes I just don't really care. Of course, this is all easier if you are currently working for a different company. If you are unemployed it is much worse, it's like your entire life revolves around it, pretty stressful.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

How much will your new job be paying you and what exactly will you be doing?

Your salary might be double but be prepared to pay a lot more for housing in NYC. Good luck to you. Don't assume you have the job until you actually have it.

Good luck. You should feel right at home. Half of FL is from NY and NJ.

My mental tactic is to assume the worst. I tell myself 1,000 times "I didn't get the job, I didn't get the job, ..." until I start believing it. That way I cushion the disappointed when I finally get my rejection notice (if the company if courteous enough to get back to me at all).

I got my first interview next week. Not bad since I applied on 1/1/2014. I know it is premature but I hope everything goes well. This is the type of company that you can plant roots. Wish me luck!!
