There's no definite rule for this, but it's better to keep it updated vs. out of date. Again, all this stuff can be verified, and while there's certainly no penalty for "having an out of date LinkedIn page," having it correct will reflect better on you. Admittedly, I'm not really sure how many places look into that kind of thing, but you may as well keep it accurate.

I updated mine on my first day of work. I'm not remotely superstitious, but it just seemed...premature...to change anything before my bum was installed in my new desk.
