I tend to like things to be fairly firm. I would not really broadcast it until I had signed the contract and felt fairly secure things would be ok. Even then, I would be guarded in how I presented it. I doubt I would wait until after I started.
RaineyJainey, it's things like that I worry over. I"m sorry that happened to you. I've been keeping things very tight lipped so far--only a few close family and friends know I have offers (or will soon hopefully receive one), and that I am mulling things over. Of course I want the celebratory/ goodbye party, and it seems silly to pack up and move to a different state and THEN say, "hey, BTW, I got a new job and moved!" Yet, I don't see myself splashing it over FB or changing my Linked In status until I'm actually starting at the job.
The things you have to consider, these days! An offer should be an offer, ya know? Not a "whoops we changed our mind."
