I work in a corporate environment and when we all worked in the office, we'd pass the obligatory birthday/bereavement/anniversary card around and that was fine, I suppose. I rarely interacted with any of the 50 people that worked there, aside from the 3 people on my small team.

We are all now at home, I do not interact with hardly anyone ever, and now I'm getting all these electronic birthday cards to sign. I think it's stupid and pointless, and I don't want to sign but I'm sure I would be chided by some for having a "poor attitude" or something. Blehhh.....

Just do it. It takes 2 seconds and is a nice gesture.

I think it is nicer to have real cards that are actually signed by people. They can be saved and looked at for years. I like seeing the actual signature of people - and it will mean so much more many years later.

If I ever kept a card I received at work, and I don't think I did, it would be because my crush signed it or something.

Just sign it and move on, or shoot a quick "happy birthday" email.
