When I got all 4 wisdom teeth I did not need any pain killers after. I was sore for a few days but it was not a big deal. I know everyone is different of course.
They usually ask what medications you're taking. Tell them about the painkiller and give them the name of the dentist who prescribed it. It shouldn't be a problem. A drug test is testing for illegal use...you have a prescription, that's different.
Beyond cocaine and marijuana, most drug tests don't screen for particular drugs and most drugs are purged from your body within 72 hours.
If you can't get past this, I suggest you reschedule getting your wisdom teeth pulled.
To me, something is fishy here.
I typical urine screen does a 5 panel, which means they look for 5 types of drug families, one of which is opiates, which is what his pain killers are going to be.
@OP: I re-read your post. You haven't even applied for a job or been scheduled for a test, correct? If so, you should be off the meds well before you take any type of drug test.
As long as they're prescribed, there's no issue with painkillers.
Yeah, this would be a non-issue, but i suspect the "prescibed' part might be the problem. When you take a drug test they will contact you with any positives. you don't need to bring notes, bottles or prescriptions with you to take the test. At the point they contact you you can provide them the name of your doctor or pharmacist so they can verify. That would be the last you hear of it if you are legit. Of course if you are not using 100% legally, that means currently prescribed and using as prescribed, then you will have a problem.
