One more thing- the key is to build a rock solid reputation.....
Being irreplaceable, being unforgettable to my clients- that's my philosophy & intention.
And, it works- I've got a really loyal & generous clientele, from all over the world.

1. Swipe post-it notes on the way out.
2. Call friends and husband; meet at bar.
3. Discuss revenge involving ricin or anthrax.
4. Drink into the night and celebrate like crazy.
5. Next morning, sign up for affordable health care.
6. Also next morning, apply for unemployment benefits.
7. Once approved, mark the weeks of benefits on calendar.
8. Periodically duck into businesses asking, "are you hiring?"
9. Duck the hell out before you can actually hear their answer.
10. When weeks of unemployment are up, plan a beach vacation.

When you don't know what to do, do nothing. That would be my first step.

Prayer would be in there somewhere.

Pick up a little job doing something to hold me until one of those applications that are in the hands of the hiring officials right now comes through for me.

Keep applying.

Help my SO with his business.

Talking Loyalty is a two-way street, and they just tore up their end of the road.

1) Refuse to sign anything.
2) Call my friends who work for competitors. Ask about job openings.
3) Profit.

1/ I've had a few recruiters call me for jobs in the last 3 weeks, so I would contact them.
2/ Apply for unemployment insurance.
3/ Take a few weeks off and relax.
4/ Call a few friends and network.
5/ Smile, at my good fortune. At least I am not working at that sh*tty company any longer.

Take some time (2 weeks to a month) to cool off. I've been dealt surprises, and being angry doesn't help.
Keep ears open and mention to some friends in the industry that you are looking.
Make sure resume is updated, look online at companies you know and apply to anything that is remotely close to your skills. This is to get practice at phone and in person interviews again.
Now the tough part. Figure out what you want to do, beside get paid. Figure out if your willing to move or not.
Keep sending resumes and applying until you have offer in hand.

Easy...

1) Review all recent social media and make sure there was nothing political or controversial.
2) Update LinkedIn
3) Update Resume, cover letter and references
4) Get new professional head shots done if my existing ones were outdated.
5) Register for unemployment and job search assistance.
6) Reach out to best network contacts and let them know i'm looking.
7) Get a haircut, manicure and teeth whitening.
8) Review and manage wardrobe as necessary
9) Develop a written strategy and schedule
10) Identify top 10 possible employers in my area and where i would like to work.

1. I wouldn't sign anything
2. I'd refuse to leave unless I was able to take all of my personal property
3. I'd drink beer once I got home
4. husband would probably take me out to dinner, have sex with me, or both
5. I'd go to bed early just to get to the next day
6. I wouldn't do anything but unwind for the next few days
7. After I could think clearer, I'd make a list of pros and cons of what happened. Were there signs I could have seen, what did I do or didn't do, etc. I'd evaluate everything to make sense of what transpired.
8. I'd contact my network
9. I'd update my resume, linkedin, etc.
10. Look for jobs and ask for job openings, practice interviewing, and write a glassdoor review.
