I'll keep it short and sweet-

My boss is down right lying about me and talking to my co-workers about me. I have proof of everything. Individual also sent out my personal medical information to co-workers after I specifically stated not to. Individual has not once came up to me and said "we need to talk or let's discuss some things", but continues to bad mouth me to everyone.

I am thinking about going to HR and filing a harassment compliant.

I'm not trying to cast doubt on what you've posted, but those are very serious allegations, which means you need concrete evidence, and be willing to name names if you have to. Presenting information and saying you can't reveal how you found out isn't going to help your case.

What evidence can you present h.r. with to prove this is true?

Sounds like defamation of character (slander and libel) and I'm almost positive sharing your medical condition with others is illegal. I would seek evidence and witnesses and most likely contact a lawyer.

It certainly sounds like it may be a violation. You don't have to share your medical information with your boss; you give it to HR who will tell your boss only what they need to know under the law.

Yes, it violates HIPAA, for one.

I don't know if you volunteered personal information, but as a rule, do not disclose to your employer anything personal about your medical state. All they need is a generic X can return to work note from a doctor if they require one, but they have no right to know any of the details.

I think you may be blowing this out of proportion. but by all means, go to HR if you want to.

I remember your old thread: http://www.city-data.com/forum/work-...ssues-out.html

It was already questionable if your medical claims are true. What law exactly was violated here?

If things aren't good now, they will only get worse after you go to HR. Be prepared for that.

If that's what this references, then I'm in agreement with Charlygal. Companies do this quite a bit when someone calls in. They'll send an email blast out saying, "Mike won't be in today, he's got the flu." The flu is not a medical condition, it's an acute illness, and calling in last minute does require an explanation. I'm not sure what the big deal is other than, perhaps, hurt pride.

Is that what this is about?

This is much ado about nothing. Don't be Don Quixote. If you continue to picture your boss as this dragon to slay, then you will dread going to work. It will eventually show in your performance, where you will be fired.

If you go to HR they will help your boss get rid of you. They are not there to be the champions of work place justice they are there to make personnel problems disappear most often by getting rid of whoever is lowest on the food chain.
