A lot of job applications now ask interview questions and ask for references before you even talk to the employer. Do you tend to skip these types of job applications?
If I see too many questions I abandon ship. Why spend an hour filling out one application that may be passed over when I could use that time to apply to 10 other jobs?
I've wanted to apply for jobs at Nintendo but always get so frustrated with the Taleo app they use and the fact that they require info about 3 professional references.
Threads like this make me wonder how some people ever get a job, of course you answer the questions and take the tests they want you to take, especially if it is for a job you want. if it is for a job that you do not think it is worth a few extra minutes to answer a few questions, than maybe you should not be applying for that job. Trust me the HR departments and hiring managers do not need to waste time on someone who feels taking a few extra minutes applying for a job is not worth the effort.

Yup-- and that's why most of them have extensive applications to weed them out
Yes, and I got this job from a short application. I was only asked interview questions when I was actually being interviewed.

Yeah, no. By giving me interview questions, wanting 5 references, and asking for the time and date of my first kiss all before you even look at my resume to see if I'm a "good fit" is wasting my time, too. Leave the interview questions for the interview, thanks.

Before I go out with you, can you send me the Facebook links of your last 3 girlfriends including your password?
Lol
I agree- the listing of the references on the online app is pretty ridiculous.
